Ruthy Ferrera hit the world on a Friday night—born in her mom’s friend’s living room—so you know she was born to entertain. A proud "Blatina" of Dominican descent, this Bronx-born firecracker speaks fluent Spanish, flawless sarcasm, and carries lethal “Yo Mama” jokes she perfected growing up in The Bronx.
An award-winning stand-up comic, Ruthy performs nationwide, and also snagged the National 2024 Ladies of Laughter Newcomer title; won top prize at the 2025 Good Karma Comedy Festival, and was the first comic to open the brand new Copacabana in New York City. Ruthy represents a borough that has birthed legends—Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor, JLo, Fat Joe, Tracy Morgan, Jimmie Walker, Robert Klein, Regis Philbin, Carl and Rob Reiner, Penny Marshall, etc.
Why mention celebs? Ruthy has always been deeply passionate about entertainment since elementary school—acting, singing, interviewing celebs, even stuffing Howard Stern’s paycheck in envelopes back in the early 90s when direct-deposit didn't exist, working at New York's Classic Rock station, 92.3 K-ROCK.

Ruthy has worked everywhere from publishing to radio, television, and film, including at HFM Media, publisher of ELLE Magazine,
Woman's Day, and John F. Kennedy Jr.’s George magazine.
Sadly, in July 1999, Ruthy saw JFK, Jr. for the last time in the lobby of 1633 Broadway around 5 p.m., before he and his wife took off on a chartered plane for his cousin's wedding in Massachusetts.
Ruthy's entertainment passion also sparked Celebriscents, her scented-candle brand celebrating people, places, and lifestyles through aromatherapy with a celebrity twist.
See below to get a glimpse of the entertainment and celebs Ruthy has worked with and shared the spotlight with.
